OUR PLATFORM

What is rTMS?

Our Technology, EEG-guided rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation), identifies & nurtures where the brain has difficulty communicating.

rTMS is both gentle and drug-free. It has been proven to show some amazing results.

TRICARE is an insurance plan issued by the United States Defense Health Agency offered to active military personnel, veterans, and their families. The equipment used in rTMS is FDA-cleared to treat Depression, and in 2016, TRICARE approved coverage for rTMS therapy for Depression.

DID YOU KNOW

Patients with depression have a great response to rTMS treatment.

HOW IT WORKS

Our Process

It all begins with a quick assessment of your brainwave pattern behavior. From there, personalized neuromodulation treatments are delivered through gentle magnetic stimulation using an FDA-cleared TMS device.

STEP 1

Brainwave Recording

We conduct an eyes-closed 10 minute quantitative electroencephalogram (q-EEG) and an electrocardiogram (EKG) tests that measure brain wave frequencies, heart rate and brain-heart coherence. Our scientific and clinical teams analyze the results to better understand your brain state.

STEP 2

Clinician Consultation

We use a patented approach with your neurophysiological data to develop a customized treatment plan that aims to encourage healthy brain communication.

All rTMS treatment parameters are approved by a licensed neurosurgeon or physician.

STEP 3

rTMS Treatments

While sitting comfortably, a trained technician will position the magnetic coil on your head. This coil will deliver your individualized treatment protocol to the targeted region of the brain.

The technician applies stimulation for 6-8 seconds per minute.

A typical appointment is 45 minutes, 30 minutes of which involve stimulation.

Meet Our Doctors

Oluseyi Awodele, MD, MS

Dr. Awodele is a residency-trained and board-certified Occupational Medicine physician. He has over seven years of medical expertise in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Aviation and Aerospace Medicine, and Preventive Medicine. He has also served as a U.S. Naval Flight Surgeon.

Dr. Awodele earned his undergraduate degree in Physiology and Neurobiology at the University of Connecticut, with a focus on Neuro-Physiology.

During this time at medical school, he participated in Traumatic Brain Injury research at Harvard Medical Instituteand Walter Reed National Military Naval Medical Center. Specifically, he worked with soldiers returning from the Afghanistan and Iraq war fronts, using advanced methods of magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS). In doing so, he identified biomarkers of brain biochemistry that could potentially distinguish between those soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and those suffering from a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI).

"I have been a military physician for most of my career. I have seen a lot of functional marines and sailors with chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, TBI, and PTSD who didn’t seek treatment because they felt physically strong or didn’t want to take medications due to their operational status. I have also witnessed close friends report exhaustion and near helplessness due to parenting their child with learning difficulties. Witnessing firsthand their transformation after receiving rTMS treatment made me a believer in its effectiveness.”

Paul Sargent, MD

Dr. Paul Sargent is a highly respected psychiatrist with an extensive background in military medicine. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and completed advanced training in Psychiatry at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego. He is also board-certified in Brain Injury Medicine.

Dr. Sargent has served in various military roles, including as a Flight Surgeon for the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. In 2009, during his deployment to Iraq, he was the only military psychiatrist in the area and initiated programs to help soldiers with sleep issues using cognitive behavioral therapy.

After returning from deployment, Dr. Sargent established the Overcoming Adversity and Stress Injury Support (OASIS) Program, a specialized treatment facility for service members suffering from complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

His many positions with the Navy included being the first psychiatrist to work with the Naval Special Warfare community, was the Medical Director of the Intrepid Spirit Center at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, and played a key role in developing policies and programs aimed at enhancing psychological resilience across the Navy.
